Parkway Youth Calendar
Check out the calendar for upcoming opportunities. Items specifically for children and youth are blue! The Breakfast Club
Parkway children and youth gather every Sunday before worship to share a light breakfast and fellowship. This is a great time for our young people to share a meal together, socialize, play games, and get to know mentors in our congregation.Sunday School
After the children's message during Sunday morning worship (usually about 10:15 a.m.), our young people head to Sunday School! Children and youth meet with others their age to explore and grow in their faith together, with the help of an adult leader. Each week, our young people focus on a different Bible story or faith practice. Our classes use the Seasons of the Spirit curriculum, as well as the Faith Practices resource by the United Church of Christ. Visitors welcome!Family Fun Night
On the last Friday of every month (unless otherwise posted), absolutely all are welcome for a free dinner at 6 p.m. followed by a movie projected onto our big screen! Bring family, bring friends, or come alone! The more, the merrier...Video Lenten Devotional
Parkway children and youth created a video with something to ponder for every day during Lent 2010. Check out this Video Lenten Devotional on our YouTube channel.
Las Posadas: On the Road with Mary and Joseph
Parkway Youth took our 12-foot puppets outside, braving the weather to remind all of us to see the faces of Mary and Joseph in each stranger we encounter. By God’s incarnational grace, we are all welcome at the table, and in turn, are called to welcome others who may knock at our doors. This special youth-led worship service was based on the Latin American tradition of Las Posadas. Don't forget to share this with your friends and family! http://tinyurl.com/parkwayposada
Confirmation
Confirmation is a unique opportunity for our young people to personally affirm their own faith. Confirmands meet as a group usually during their first year of high school. They learn to articulate their own understanding of the Christian faith, they grow in their understanding of and take personal ownership of what they believe, and they confirm their baptism or decide whether or not to be baptised into the church.Scholarship Request Form
Parkway Youth have scholarship money available for those who have trouble finding the necessary funds for a retreat, mission trip, youth event, or camp. Youth are asked to make an attempt to pay for part of the event if funds are available to them so that more money will be available to others who also need help. However, PLEASE do not say no to an event because of the cost—we want you there! Fill out and return a Scholarship Request Form.
